Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions set out how StayPaws Cat Sitting Service operates.

 

By booking with me, you agree to the following:

1. Bookings & Payment
 

  • A free meet & greet is required before your first booking.

  • Bookings are confirmed once all relevant forms are completed, signed and returned via email.

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking, by bank transfer (details provided on invoice)

  • Final payment is due within 7 days of the end of the booking, by bank transfer (details provided on invoice).

  • Late payments may incur a fee of £10 per week overdue, and future services may be withheld until payment is received.

  • Full payment may be required for peak periods (e.g., Christmas, Bank Holidays) at the time of booking. 

  • Prices are subject to change; at least 30 days’ notice will be given of any updates.


2. Cancellations
 

  • The “start date” is defined as the date of the first scheduled visit.

  • Cancellations must be made in writing (email, text, or message).

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the start date: no charge.

  • Cancellations within 24–48 hours: 50% fee.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the start date: full fee may be charged.

  • In exceptional circumstances (e.g., illness, bereavement), cancellation fees may be waived at my discretion.

  • In the unlikely event StayPaws needs to cancel, all payments made will be refunded in full.


3. Pet Health & Emergencies
 

  • Owners must provide accurate, up-to-date information about their pet’s health, behaviour and medication.

  • Vaccination, flea and worming records may be requested for cats.

  • Owners should provide details of their registered vet and a secondary emergency contact.

  • In the event of illness or emergency, I will contact you immediately. If I cannot reach you, I am authorised to make decisions in your pet’s best interest, including seeking veterinary care.

  • Veterinary costs remain the owner’s responsibility.

  • Medication will only be administered as instructed by the owner/vet and with a signed Medication Consent Form.

  • If a pet sadly passes away while in my care, I will act with compassion and follow the wishes we have agreed after being contacted.


4. Keys & Home Access

 

  • Keys will be collected and returned in person, unless otherwise agreed.

  • Keys may be held securely for future bookings with the owner’s consent.

  • Keys and access codes will never be shared with third parties.

  • I will ensure your home is left safe and secure after each visit.


5. Liability
 

  • StayPaws holds specialist pet sitting insurance, including:

    • Public liability cover

    • Care, custody & control of animals

    • Loss of keys cover

  • I cannot be held liable for:

    • Pre-existing health conditions, injury, or death of a pet

    • Damage caused by pets in the home

    • Events beyond my reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, illness, transport delays, force majeure)


6. Service Times
 

  • Standard visits last around 15 minutes.

  • Visits will be made within a 2-hour window of the agreed time.

  • In the event of a long delay outside of the 2-hour window, due to traffic, emergencies, or unforeseen circumstances, I will try to contact your nominated secondary emergency contact to ensure your pets are not left without care.
  • Longer visits can be booked as an add-on.


7. Catflaps & Outdoor Access
 

  • If your cat has a catflap or free outdoor access, I cannot be held responsible for their safety or whereabouts while you are away.

  • I will, however, keep you updated if your cat is not seen during visits, so you are aware.

  • It is the owner’s responsibility to decide whether their cat has indoor-only care or outdoor access during the booking.

  • Owners must provide written instructions if their cat has outdoor access.
     

8. Data Protection & Privacy

  • Client information (contact details, keys, alarm codes, pet details) will be handled securely and used only for the purpose of providing pet care.

  • Data will be stored in line with GDPR requirements and never shared with third parties.

9. Complaints & Disputes

​

  • If you have a concern or complaint, please raise it with me as soon as possible so it can be resolved quickly and fairly.

  • If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be handled in accordance with UK consumer law.

10. Miscellaneous

​

  • These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time; clients will be notified of any changes.

  • By booking with StayPaws Cat Sitting Service, you confirm you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
